Originally workshopped as staged readings, then a solo play, then developed directionally with Robert Butler (director of Gunsmoke and Bonanza), Rodeo Cowgirl is a fish-out-of-water story about an ex-rodeo cowgirl turned Chicago blues singer who goes back home to save the ranch. She's not really at home in either world; she's not the slick, big city person she pretends to be, yet she's no longer just a ranch-raised Colorado cowgirl anymore either.
Although set in the specific world of a Southern Colorado horse and cattle ranching operation, the story is a universal one – filled with the conflict we all experience between who we were versus who we have become versus who we long to be, and the common experience of not quite belonging or fitting in anyplace.
Complete with an action-packed rodeo, and filled with comedy, a love triangle and a bad-ass heroine, Rodeo Cowgirl invites ya’ll to come on home.
